SRAM, 256 Byte EEPROM.
Up to 20Mhz clock input.
44 pin PLCC package with up to 33 I/O lines.
Compact size 3.5" X 1.7".
Built in serial port and reset button.
LCD display interface, HD44780 compatible.
6 pin in-circuit programming header.
All I/O pins of micro are silkscreened labeled and brought out to .1" space
headers for easy external connections.
Professional quality board with silkscreen.
Update: We recently purchased one of the newer PIC18F458 microcontrollers in 44PLCC package. This is pin compatible to the PIC16F877 and works fine in the PIC877FB board. The 18F458 has some great new features plus 32Kbyte of flash for even larger programs.
Power requirements:
Requires external 8-12 volt DC supply.
Software:
The PIC877FB was designed to take advantage of the many free PIC assemblers and
compilers available on the web as well as any commercial versions.
The HI-Tech PICC
Lite C compiler includes free support for the PIC16F877.
XCSB is
a free BASIC compiler for personal non-commercial use.
JAL is a free (GPL) Pascal
like compiler.
B Knudsen Data has
a free, but limited up to 1K of code, C compiler for both the 16 and 18 series
PIC.
GNUPIC is a source for
some free assemblers and compilers.
Any PIC "TAIT" compatible programming software can be used. We use
the freeware ICProg programmer.
