Power requirements:
Requires external 8-12 volt DC supply.
Software:
The AVR8515FB was designed to take advantage of the many free AVR assemblers and
compilers available
on the web as well as any commercial versions.
We recommend and use Imagecraft ICCAVR
C compiler.
There is also a "free for personal use" BASIC compiler available. RVK-Basic was
featured in a series of "howto" articles in Nuts & Volts magazine.
WinAVR is
the free windows Gnu GCC compiler. This a very good C compiler.
There is also SmallC
for AVR available for free. We haven't tested this yet.
For info about other compilers available for the AVR, check out AVRfreaks.
Any
STK200 compatible programming software can be used to program the AVR. The
freely available PonyProg programmer
works well.
